Vectis Auctions Ltd

After the sale of the hamper business back in 1994, Bryan decided to restart collecting toys from his childhood. His main interests being Corgi and Dinky toys. He regularly attended an auction held in Guildford, but based on the Isle of Wight and when the owner decided he would like to retire – Bryan and Jeannie purchased the company in 1996.

Eight auctions were held in the first year and by 2008 Vectis held 50 auctions selling diecast, trains, dolls and teddies, tinplate and lead soldiers to customers all over the globe. Vectis is now the worlds largest toy auctioneers. Although room sales are still held, the vast majority of the items are sold via the internet.

Teesside Warehousing

With a huge complex to fill, Teesside Warehousing was purchased in 1988. This division handles all third party storage for the Hambleton Group.

Teesside Caravans

This division started as a small entity storing a couple of caravans for local people to a business storing 350 caravans. With a rapidly growing waiting list for storage space, the Hambleton Group are currently in negiotiations to purchase an extra 7 acres for expansion of the caravan storage division.

April 2009 saw the opening of our service centre – whereby owners can have their caravans fully serviced. By purchasing the extra land this should give the Hambleton Group the capacity to store 1000 caravans.

Arts Bank

ArtsBank is a major new artistic initiative, privately funded, and based on Teesside. Successful local businessman Bryan Goodall (FRSA and chairman of the Hambleton Group) has formed ArtsBank, with a £600k initial investment. ArtsBank aims to give a massive boost to the work of creative people across the north east, and beyond. It has acquired and converted a substantial Victorian property (the old HSBC bank) in the heart of the beautiful and spectacular resort of Saltburn-by-the-Sea. The whole building has been transformed into a five-floor gallery and centre for the arts, with something for everyone.
