THE HAMBLETON GROUP
Back in 1976, a husband and wife team, Bryan and Jeannie Goodall started a Christmas hamper company. Bryan at the time was working for his father, who himself a successful business man, ran a personal finance business – a company he bought in 1954.
Bryan joined this business in 1965 when he was 16. With an instant database of customers Bryan and Jeannie formed Cleveland Hampers. Customers were allowed to pay each week for their hamper of goodies (mainly consisting of food, drinks, sweets etc) and it would be delivered to their home in time for Christmas.
With two small children in tow and a kitchen table rapidly running out of space, Bryan and Jeannie purchased the complex the Hambleton Group currently operate from. A warehouse consisting of 250,000 sq ft on a site occupying 12 acres – ample space to pack Christmas Hampers.
By 1984 the company was renamed Heritage Hampers and had 7 offices nationwide, serving 15,000 agents and 120,000 customers.
